Text 6
Non-refundable grant for the recruitment of expert personnel.
Non-refundable grant to encourage the hiring of personnel with a PhD degree for the development of R&D projects lasting 3 years. The objective includes previous technical feasibility studies, Industrial Research projects and Experimental Development projects.
How many requests can a company make?
Up to three requests per entity may be submitted at any time within the indicated deadline, provided that in each of the applications the proposed researcher to hire is different and that each request corresponds to a clearly different project or action.
What is the amount of Torres Quevedo aid?
The amount of aid will be determined according to the cost of hiring (the sum of the gross compensation plus the Social Security business contribution), the type of project and the type of entity. The maximum annual funding contract cost for aid cannot exceed 55,000 euros.
What is the funding intensity?
The intensities assigned to each proposed request will be the maximum that corresponds, depending on the type of project and entity, and range from 70% for industrial research and viability projects, to 45% for experimental development projects (both in small companies).
Who can be a beneficiary?
Companies (including “spin-off” companies and JEIs) State-level technology centers, business associations and science and technology parks that also meet the following requirements (see Annex 1 for definitions):

• Location of the researcher's workplace within Spanish territory.

• Carrying out a specific industrial research project, experimental development or a previous technical feasibility study.
What are the conditions of Torres Quevedo aid?
The aid must be applied to carry out R&D activities in addition to those carried out by the company, and must justify in its request the need and the incentive effect of the aid. The doctors who are hired for these grants must participate in the carrying out of industrial research projects, experimental development or in previous feasibility studies, either in general, for their start-up or to reinforce one that has already begun.
What is the deadline for submitting the request?
The Torres Quevedo grant is published through annual calls that usually have a period of one month to submit the application. For the 2024 call, the application deadline is from January 23 to February 13, 2020.
