Are you ready?
Signs that your company may be eligible for public funding now
Most instruments require a Spanish registered office. Some have additional requirements regarding revenue or company age, which we analyze during the initial session.
Software, hardware, biotech, deeptech, agritech — if your company genuinely develops or applies technology, there are specific instruments for you.
ENISA co-investment requires having received private capital in the last 6 months. If you have just closed or are currently closing a round, now is the time.

Everything you need to know
We work primarily with startups and innovative SMEs. In general, the company must be incorporated in Spain, have a sound financial structure, and possess the capacity to execute the proposed project. Each instrument has specific requirements, so we conduct a preliminary analysis before recommending an application.
We manage the primary national and regional support instruments for startups and innovative SMEs, such as ENISA and CDTI, as well as strategic calls like PERTE when they align with a company's activities. We also work with R&D&i tax incentives, monetizable deductions, social security rebates for research staff, and grants for hiring qualified technical profiles. In certain cases, we provide support for specific calls such as Innovative Business Groups (AEI) and other sector-specific programs. Furthermore, we analyze regional instruments based on the company's location, identifying which local lines can complement national funding. Our approach is not to apply for isolated grants, but to design a combined strategy that maximizes total capital obtained and strengthens the company's financial structure.
Preparation is carried out by our specialized public funding department, with a team dedicated exclusively to these types of calls. Before preparing the application, we review the financial structure, the economic model, and the project's coherence to ensure it meets the eligibility and solvency criteria required by the entity. We then draft the technical and financial report, work on the financial model, and coordinate the collection of documentation so that the file is submitted complete, consistent, and well-argued. We do not limit ourselves to just submitting the application. We are involved in active follow-up with the entities' analysts until the grant is awarded, managing requirements, uploading additional documentation, and providing technical clarifications when necessary. Furthermore, for calls that require it, we support the company in the justification phase to ensure the proper closing of the file and avoid subsequent issues. Agility and control of the process are key to reducing resolution times and maximizing the probability of success.
Yes, our fees are contingent upon obtaining the funding. If we submit the application and a favorable resolution is not obtained, we do not charge success fees. Our model is aligned with the success of the operation.
Yes. These instruments are compatible with each other, and in many cases, we recommend working on them in a coordinated manner when the company meets the criteria for both. They are also compatible with R&D&i tax incentives. Part of our value lies in structuring the optimal combination to maximize funding without straining the company's financial structure.
It depends on the reason for the denial. In many cases, it is possible to reapply if aspects of the financial model are corrected, the capital structure is strengthened, or the timing is adjusted relative to the investment round. Before recommending a new application, we analyze the previous file to assess whether there is a reasonable probability of success.
Yes. Deductions generated in years with losses can be monetized in advance for a significant percentage of their value, even without a corporate income tax liability. This is an especially relevant tool for growth-stage startups that are not yet profitable and is often underutilized due to a lack of proper planning.
Yes. We manage national instruments for companies throughout Spain. For regional instruments, we analyze which options are available based on the company's registered office.
Each case depends on the project's maturity, financial structure, and the quality of the documentation submitted. That is why we conduct a preliminary analysis and only recommend applying when we believe the company meets the minimum criteria and there is a reasonable probability of success.
We are always open to bringing on talent with experience in public funding, managing competitive calls, and structuring R&D&i projects. If you have experience preparing technical and financial reports, managing grants like ENISA or CDTI, R&D tax incentives, or European and regional programs, and you are interested in working with startups and innovative SMEs, you can send your application to comunicacion@intelectium.com.
