The monthly TTR (Transactional Track Record) report registered a 4% increase in the number of mergers and acquisitions in Spain. During the month of August, 64 mergers and acquisitions were announced or closed, with a combined value of 2,379 million euros, representing a drop of 27.27% in the number of transactions and 17.01% in their amount, compared to the same month of 2016. TTR has indicated that the most active sector between January and August was real estate, with a total of 362 transactions, followed by Technology with 174 and the Internet sector with 113. The main investment destinations selected by Spanish companies were States United with 20 operations and Portugal with 16 operations. In terms of amount, the largest disbursement made to a foreign country was to France, with a sum of 2,201 million euros. On the other hand, the foreign countries with the highest number of investments made in Spain were the United States with 66, the United Kingdom with 49 and France with 41. Italy was the country that stood out for its amount, with 17,111 million euros. Private Equity accounted for a total of 134 transactions up to the month of August, valued at an amount of 17,144 million euros. The transactions in this market were 221 and represented an aggregate amount of 873.76 million euros. Finally, the TTR report accounts for a total of 17 IPO during the year, which amount to 3,017 million euros, together with 36 capital increases worth 8 billion euros.
