The Next Generation EU call is open: Grants from the Program R&D Projects for Audiovisual and Video Game Technologies

Under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the call for grants for R&D projects in audiovisual and video game technologies is opened. The main purpose of the call is to finance R&D projects for the development of new technologies for application to the fields of audiovisual production and the video game sector, as well as the transfer and adaptation of these developments to other application sectors. The projects must be in one of the following categories:

  • Projects for the development of new technologies of application to the audiovisual field and video games, including those necessary for the creation of special effects and animation prototypes, new equipment (lenses, cameras, sensors for motion capture, etc.; The automation of production processes or development of artificial intelligence technologies for audiovisual production processes and the creation of video games.
  • Projects for the development of our own innovative technologies in the field of video games or audiovisual for application in other environments such as cultural, health or education, among others.

What actions are eligible?

The costs related to the development and execution of the activities for which they have been granted. Specifically:

  • Personnel costs
  • Costs of inventoriable instruments and material
  • Contract research costs, technical knowledge and patents acquired or obtained by license from external sources
  • Consulting costs and equivalent services

Expenses, overheads and other additional operating expenses (including expenses for materials, supplies and similar products) that derive directly from the project and the expense derived from the auditor's report will also be accepted.

Financial expenses, investments in land, premises and civil works, indirect taxes when they are susceptible to recovery or compensation, expenses for the promotion and dissemination of the project, and maintenance expenses will not be bankable. Transportation and travel expenses will not be fundable either.

Beneficiaries of the aid

Small and medium-sized enterprises (less than 250 workers and not exceeding 50 million euros in turnover) can benefit from this aid, with their own legal personality and tax residence in Spain.

Amount

The modality of this aid is in the form of a grant. The minimum grant is 175,000€ and the maximum amount will be 2,000,000€ depending on each type of project. Experimental development activities will weigh more than 60% of the eligible budget. The projects must be multiannual. The maximum total budget for this call is 30,000,000€.

Timeframe of the aid

The deadline for submitting applications began on May 28, 2022 and will end on July 12 at 12 noon.
