Entity: Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa. Objective: Reduce the expenses that companies have to face when it comes to hiring new staff and to promote employment in the city.Beneficiaries: Companies and self-employed workers. Type of help: Grants of up to €5,000 for each new contract that is formalized. If the contract is aimed at groups with the highest unemployment rate in the city (women of any age or men under 30 or over 45), the contracting entity will be able to access an increase in the subsidy of 1,000 euros. Requirements:
-The person hired must be registered in the city of Barcelona and be duly registered in the strike. -Contracts must have a minimum duration of 6 months, or be indefinite, and full-time. -Each corporation may benefit from a maximum of 10 new additions, as long as the number of people receiving the grant does not exceed the number of workers hired by the company, prior to applying for such grants. Therefore, the additions must mean an increase in the workforce. -Beneficiary entities must have a work center within the Barcelona Metropolitan Area and have been operating for more than six months.
