What is it?
The EIBT Brand (Technology-Based Innovative Company) is a national badge promoted by the National Association of Spanish CEEIs (ANCES), in collaboration with the European Business and Innovation Centres (CEEI/BIC) in each region.
Since its creation more than 16 years ago, this accreditation has distinguished more than 500 innovative companies and projects, consolidating itself as a key tool for startups and SMEs with a strong R+D+i component.
Its objective is to recognize and promote those organizations that incorporate scientific or technological knowledge in the development of their products, services or business models, boosting their growth and visibility.

When is a company considered a Technology-Based Innovator?
You can apply for the EIBT Mark if your company meets the following general requirements:
1- To be legally constituted, with registered office, domicile or permanent establishment in Spain.
2- Develop a project with a differentiating technological base, based on scientific, technical knowledge or R+D+i activities.
3- Present demonstrable innovation in products, services, processes or business models.
4- Have a solid promotional team with a vision of growth, capable of taking the project to the market.
5- Have a defined target market with potential for impact.
6- Be less than 5 years old, or up to 7 years old in strategic sectors such as biotechnology, energy, industry or ICT. Exceptionally, older companies can apply for the label if they present a new R&D project of special relevance.
7- Do not proceed from mergers or divisions or be listed on regulated markets.
Remember: the EIBT Brand is awarded to projects with a high level of innovation and viability, backed by solid business plans and clear growth strategies.
What is the process for obtaining the EIBT Mark?
The procedure is carried out in collaboration with the CEEI or BIC of your autonomous community. The usual steps are:
1- Locate the reference CEEI
Contact the center of your region (La Nave in Madrid, Barcelona Activa or 22@ in Catalonia, CEEI Valencia, CEEI Murcia, CEEI Asturias, etc.).
2- Consult the active call
ANCES and the CEEIs publish several calls each year (usually three). Review your community's specific deadlines and requirements.
3- Prepare the documentation
- Descriptive report of the project: degree of innovation, technological base, protection (patents or intellectual property, if applicable)
- Information about the team, market analysis and competitors
- Business plan, growth forecast, solvency and liquidity
- Evidence of investment in R+D+i or evidence of the innovative nature
4- Expert evaluation
A professional jury, coordinated by ANCES, evaluates the documentation and awards a score based on criteria such as:
- Level of innovation and knowledge protection
- Technical and economic viability
- Potential for scalability and creation of qualified employment
- Experience and commitment of the promoting team
5- Grant and use of the seal
If the application is favorable, you will receive the certificate that accredits you as an Innovative Technology-Based Company. You can display the seal on your website, presentations and corporate material.
Accreditation can be renewed if your company develops new innovative projects in the future.
