SODENA 2024 Grants: Funding for startups and SMEs in the Regional Community of Navarra

SODENA has several financial instruments aimed at encouraging innovation and productivity in Navarran companies.

SODENA has several financial instruments (venture capital, lines of guarantees, etc.) aimed at contributing to economic growth and encouraging innovation and productivity in companies in the Community.

Venture Capital is SODENA's main financial instrument for tackling innovative or differential investment projects capable of generating economic and social returns in Navarre. It consists of taking a shareholding, generally in the minority and on a temporary basis, in the capital of companies not listed on the stock exchange.

Capital Seed Start Up

Through the Capital Semilla Start up program, SODENA invests between 100,000 and 400,000€ through participatory loans, aimed at financing the launch of products, the acquisition of customers and the opening of new markets and the development of human capital; thus supporting the creation of new companies or companies of recent creation and with high growth potential. SODENA's participation in the company, as a minority shareholder, lasts between 3 and 8 years.

Seed Capital

Through the Seed Capital program, SODENA invests up to 100,000€ through participatory loans convertible into capital, with repayment periods of between 5 and 8 years and a grace period of between 1 and 3 years. The interest rate consists of a fixed tranche (Euribor +3%) and a variable tranche to be determined depending on the activity and the results obtained by the beneficiary company. In any case, the sum of both interests cannot exceed 10%.

Capital launch expansion

Through the Capital Launch Expansion program, SODENA invests in small and medium-sized companies with growth potential and whose need for funding exceeds 400,000€. SODENA's participation in the company, which will represent between 5% and 45% of the capital, has a maximum duration of 10 years. The entity can complement investment in certain companies by granting participatory loans convertible into capital.

Requirements:

  • The beneficiary company must be located in Navarra for the effective development of the project.
  • The project must have a management team whose members present complementary competencies.
  • The company must provide a solid business plan with growth prospects that supports the project's potential.
  • The project must have an innovative or differential nature, capable of generating economic and social profitability.
  • It will be positively assessed that the project is being developed in one of the sectors aligned with the Intelligent Specialization Strategy - Navarra S3 (biotechnology, energy and environment, agri-food and ICT).

Although SODENA's main activity consists of temporary, minority participation in company capital; companies in the Regional Community of Navarra can also benefit from several different lines of guarantees and financing that the entity offers for self-employed individuals, entrepreneurs, SMEs, microSMEs and large companies established in Navarra.
